Remarkably faster than it's 650S predecessor, the McLaren 720S kickstarts the release of 15 other new-generation McLaren supercars. It features a 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, an all-glass cockpit, and a new Monocage II carbon-fiber chassis. The chassis structure is considerably lighter and stronger than the 650S, with the dry lightweight standing at 1283kg.
The 720S' suspension also comes with enhanced sensors and a damper system that is hydraulically connected. Its aero work boasts of increased downforce, with 50 percent more than the 650S generated. There's also double aerodynamic efficiency and 15 percent cooling efficiency. According to McLaren, the upgraded engine features 41 percent new parts, with everything from turbos to intercoolers and crankshafts replaced and improved on. At $200,000, McLaren hit the right notes with this supercar.
